I have been working in LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 creating forms. I attempted to open a form to make changes. It begins to launch LiveCycle but before that, the application completely shuts down. I also tried to create a new form with the wizard, a blank form etc but the same behavior happens - LiveCycle shuts down. I tried uninstalling CS4 Web Pro and reinstalling but that doesn't help. Any clues???

I dont know if I can be much help but I can give you a place to start looking.
I suffered a similar faith when I upgraded to my Acrobat to version 9, eventually removed the upgrade which resulted in the Livecycle designer preview screen disappearing, I had to reload the LiveCycle

Try deleting this directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\windows login name\Application Data\Adobe\Designer
Where "windows login name" is the the userid that you logged into windows with.

What OS are you running it on? I've had issues with running Adobe LiveCycle and Designer in Windows Vista. There is funky Vista security on the Program Files folder. If you are running Vista, try to make sure Designer is installed into C:\Adobe\... instead of C:\...\ProgramFiles\Adobe (which is generally the default).
Hope this helps!

I don't have any files directly under Designer, only folders. Here is my folder structure. What should I remove?

1. uninstall adobe acrobat reader
2. uninstall adobe LiveCycle
3. install adobe acrobat reader
4. install adobe LiveCycle.
If the problem is persistent you could try upgrading Internet Explorer as mentioned before yet I doubt this will fix anything.
