I've been searching for a while and can't seem to find anything on this...
On mandatory validation failure, is there a way to gather and list the names of the missing mandatory fields to make it easier on the form filler?

Hi Jono,
I came across two solutions before, which may give you a direction:
One from Stefan Cameron at http://forms.stefcameron.com/2009/03/16/auto-identify-mandatory-fields/ . This sample gives a message, listing a max of 7 of the required fields that are not completed.
And the other at John Brinkman's blog http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/2008/11/validation_patterns_part_3.html
Good luck,
Niall
Thanks for the links Niall.
I'd been looking at the one from Stefan's blog but couldn't figure out how it was doing the popup list...also, it needs version 9 to work.
I'll take a look at John's it looks interesting (and compatible to version 7).
It's weird, I've been googling around the last couple of days and that link to John's blog never showed up. Guess I need to adapt my search terms...

Just a note for other people looking at giving user feedback on validation/mandatory fields - the posts on John Brinkman's blog are fantastic.
The series on validation patterns is a good read and there's a great toolkit of code in the Part 3 sample.
