Development has been stopped so there will not be any updates to the Spark SWC. I didn't look at how h.264 has been implemented but support for it could be as easy as to inject the new codec name somewhere in the WebCam component or just impossible 
We make all the client source code available so if you can't change the codec name via the exposed object you can try modifying the WebCam component itself.
