Is it possible to add a keyboard shortcut to a button?

I want to add buttons instead of have the users use keyboard shortcuts for a Rich Text field in my form. For example Alt + 7 to add a bullet, Alt + E to open the Rich Text tool bar, etc. I know v 10 incudes this but my company won't upgrade me.
