Improving performance of a static PDF form?

Hi All,

I have a form here that was originally developed by somebody else, I believe in LiveCycle. Opening this 1MB PDF form causes Acrobat to use 300-400MB of RAM and takes between 1 and 2 minutes to actually open.

The document itself is about 18 pages long and contains hundreds of objects (checkboxes, text fields, calculated fields etc) but does not connect to any external data sources. Is this natural behaviour? are there any ways to optimise this form? I have tried this on other workstations and have tried opening the document in Acrobat and Acrobat Reader.. both take about the same time to open.

Are there any recommendations from Adobe about the maximum number of objects/fields a document should contain?

Would need to see th eform in action to make a determination. Cna you share the form by sending it to LiveCycle8@gmail.com

and include a description of the issue.
