How to make a field dependent on a drop down list

Hello I have adobe live cycle 8.0 and I am trying to make a new form where if the user chooses x object from the drop down only then another set of fields appear. I do not know anything about Java script any help will be appreciated.

You could go this route. See the code behind the dropdown on the left inside of the form.
