How can I get a transparent background to place in image field?

I created a shelf strip form for our salesmen to use out in the trade where they can type in their own price and palce the logo needed for whatever package. I saved the logos we use as a png file wih a transparent background because that's what LiveCycle supports but when I place the logo in the image field it comes up with a white background. How can i fix this? I have made Adobe Support aware of this.

Hi,

You can BUT you must save the PNG (in something like Photoshop) to 'Save for web' 8-bit PNG.

If you look at the sample here: http://assurehsc.ie/blog/index.php/2010/05/moving-objects-around-a-form/ you will see that the white pattern is a PNG with transparencies, over a solid colour rectangle:

Also there is another sample here: https://acrobat.com/#d=l97EOha0PILOh82BO68Pqg

Acrobat.png

The behaviour is documented (I think) - LC Designer supports 8-bit PNG transparencies.

Hope that helps,

Niall
