Help: How to transfer form data from one form to another form

Hi:

I was wondering how/if it's possible to transfer form data from one form to another form. I'm creating a flow of forms that go like this: Incident Report Form -> Risk Analysis Form -> Error Decision Aid -> Standard Investigation Report Form -> Risk Control Report Form -> Mitigation Report Form -> Etc... You get the gist. It would be very lengthy to continually transfer the standard Who, What, When, Where, & How from one form to another. I was wondering how to do it? I've looked around on the net and this forum and couldn't find any tutorial or guide? Is this possible with Adobe Forms?

I'm using an XML form schema to pre-load the list of employees and standard list information and then publishing the form to be able to submit it in PDF for mobile device opening and form tracking. I notice that I can export the data from a distributed form in XML but I can't import it into a distributed form. I'm a newb with code but can somewhat hold my own.

An example of how to achieve this with a name field or something would be greatly appreciated! If you require anything or a copy of the forms just let me know!

Thank you kindly,

Al

Hi Al,

I have an example here of where data in one form is "communicated" to other forms. Please note that there is specific script in each of the forms. It is a work in progress and someday I will get back to make it a more polished example: http://assure.ly/qQivbm.

Also see John Brinkman's blog for a different approach: http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/2010/07/shared_data_in_packages_part_1.html and http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/2010/07/shared_data_in_packages_part_2.html.

Good luck,

Niall
