Form takes up to 2 minutes to open - why??

I'm a fairly new user to LiveCycle. I created a performance appraisal review form in LiveCycle v9.0, yet it takes almost 2 minutes to open. The files size is showing only 333KB. Other forms I've created do not take very long at all to pop open. I have no idea how to begin to diagnose why this is happening. Any help is greatly apprecaited.

Not that I am aware of. It should be a simple form yet it took 15 minutes to open on my work PC... this is crazy. I'd start over on a new form but I dont know what is wrong with this to to avoid making the same issue with a new one...

Suggestions?

Can you provide the form, perhaps putting it on dropbox?

I can load it to Box, attach it here, or email it to you. If I put it on Box, how do I share it so you can see it? I dont see a way for me to attach it to this thread.

I just uploaded it. I am not very good (obviously) at building pdf forms yet, and this was done as an urgent issue so I am certain that best practices have not been followed. Any advice or suggestions you have is greatly helpful, considering I am supposed to roll this out tomorrow.

Hmm. It loads instantly for me. What OS and version of Reader/Acrobat are you using?

Mostly XP Pro running on Pentium 4 Dell machines purchased about 8 years ago. 1GB RAM, and running varied versions of Acrobat Reader mostly X and XI. We’re a nonprofit and technology infrastructure upgrades haven’t been on the budget for awhile…

The odd thing is I have built other dynamic forms that seem to pop open fairly quickly. This one that I sent you seems to take the longest. Do you see any structure or formatting issues that might be the culprit?

Thank you sincerely for helping.

It's hard to troubleshoot when the problem isn't occurring for me. I have multiple virtual staging environments at work so I'll run it there tomorrow with the specs you gave me.

So I tested it out on Windows Pro Reader X 3GB and it opened right away. Then I put it down to 1GB and it took over a minute! Best bet is to get a faster machine! (or at least a memory upgrade)

In the mean time, I had a look at your form and there were a lot of objects and subforms that didn't need to be there, so I cleaned it up and made one repeatable subform. It works a lot faster now even on a 1GB.

You can edit the title of each entry in the scripting object myLists.
