Form Guides in ES2

I am hoping someone can shed some light on this for me.

We just upgraded from Acrobat 9 to Acrobat X with that came and upgrade to ES2.  To my dismay i noticed that now form guides cannot be created in ES2 without workbench.

I am not familiar with enterprise workflow.  I simply have a standalone version of Acrobat X Pro Designer ES2 now.  Does it mean that I now lost the ability to create form guides?  I was able to do that in ES, do I need to purchase server version in order to work with workbench?  Do i need to buy it?

I realy hope this is not the case as it would seem we just spent money on an upgrade that took away the functionality we already had?

Appreciate your help in danvace...

Guides was moved from the Designer into LiveCycle Workbench in ES2.   It now has it's own editor in the Workbench and can use both XDP and LiveCycle data models as the basis for building a Guides.   While there was a Guide Builder plugin into Designer prior to ES2 is always required the LiveCycle Forms service for rendering.   So you've always needed the LiveCycle server to use Guides.
