Failed to Deploy lca's during cluster configuration

Hi,

I am doing livecycle clustering on weblogic server.

Software Details - Weblogic Server (10.3.0.0) , Livecycle ES2 , Oracle JRockit Real Time 3.1.2 for JAVA SE6

All are 64 bit versions.

While automatic deployment of components on the application server the configuration manager process log showed that -  adobe-livecycle-launchpad.lca, adobe-launcpad-access.lca,adobe-navigators.lca,adobe-guides.lca failed to get deployed ( although i can see them in the deploy folder) . All the remaining components got deployed successfully.

What can be the issue ??

Note - I am doing installation without root access but have access on the specific folder.

I will be using Adobe Livecycle Digital Signatures , Forms and Reader Extensions modules only.

Have not included the IVS Ears for deployment.

Database used is Oracle  (Clustered) . Have used seperate ojdbc jar .

Hi,

Is it a fresh LiveCycle installation or you're attempting an upgrade from an older version?

Apart from having read/write/execute permissions on LiveCycle related directories you must be having these permissions on system temporary directory also. Please make sure that you have these permissions already in place.

Please try the following steps and let us know if they work for you.

1) Shutdown your LiveCycle cluster.

2) Exit LiveCycle Configuation Manager.

3) Clean up the temporary directories, LiveCycle's as well as system's. N.B. Don't tamper with Global Document Storage directory.

4) Make sure you have appropriate permission on all LiveCycle related directories (this includes system temporary directory).

5) Restart your LiveCycle cluster.

6) Relaunch the LiveCycle Configuation Manager.

7) Choose to proceed further from LiveCycle Component Deployment step.

You should get through the configuration. If this still fails please post a snippet of both LiveCycle Configuation Manager and Application Server logs.

Thanks Heena for the prompt reply . Sure I will try the above mentioned steps tomorrow . I am doing a fresh cluster installation and configuration.

I have created a seperate temp directory and am not using the system's temp directory. Do i still need permissions on system temp directory ?

　

In one of the documentations I found that -

　

Caution:

Do not select the tasks Configure application server, Validate application server configuration, or Deploy LiveCycle ES EARs. These tasks are not supported by LiveCycle Configuration Manager in a clustered configuration and must always be deselected.

But i am doing all this with the help of Configuration Mannager . Can this be the issue ??

(Although in my previous attempt, I used Configuration Manager only , and that cluster is working fine !!! )

Hi,

Yes, you would still need permissions on system temp directory.

I don't think performing the steps as mentioned by you using Configuration Manager can be an issue.

You can go ahead with the new setup and let us know of any issues you face.

I am getting this error too but i am installating single server. I can improt all ear at WAS server successfully but i can't deploy LCES2 components and lca .that steps are fail.

I am using

Windows server 2008 standard 64 bit R2, LCES2 (9.0.0.2 Sp1) , JDK 1.6.0_22  64 bit, Oracle 10 g .

How can i solve this issue?

Please give me any suggestion.

In my case the installer itself was corrupt . I installed again using the original Adobe CD and the issue got resolved .

Where can i get the installer CD? I download LCES2 installer from adobe site.It is trial version i think.
