Exporting form data

How do I export data entered by a user in a dynamic PDF form? Is there a data format similar to FDF files in earlier versions of Acrobat?

I want users to be able to save contact information that they reuse when filling out forms. Is there some other way for them to save this info somewhere and then dump it into the form?

I am using the following FormCalc with semi-positive results to generate an .xdp file (click event of a button)

xfa.host.exportData("",1);

It sort of works OK in Acrobat Pro X (also in the PDF preview of LC ES2) but not at all in Reader X ( I have saving the form enabled, which works fine.)

in the instances that it does work, I still get an error message if I cancel the export, see below:

Is it possible to have the export function work in Reader? I get the same message as shown above when I attempt to export data in Reader X.
