Expand to fit flowed fields

I have created a flowed form that has expand to fit fields; the issue I am having is that some of the users don't like the fact that they have to tab to the next field to see the entire text of the field they have been working in.  Is there a way that I can make the expand to fit fields show the current text in it?

Quick answer: No. You cannot have the field expand while you are typing text.

An alternative can be to have the field expand when the user tabs into it with the field set to Limit Length to Visible Area and if they don't fill in the entire field, it will shrink to the amount of text the user entered.
