Hi - I have to submit an ECOT document to a mortgage lender . It just won't open. I have the latest version of Acrobat Reader but I just keep getting the following - where am I going wrong?

What version of Adobe Reader are you opening it with and on what operating system?

Hi - just the latest free download on their website. Windows 10

is this a form you downloaded from the mortgage lender web-site? If so can you give me the link and I have a look at the PDF.

ok, I can open the file when I download it first. The current browsers such as Chrome etc are not able to display so called XFA based PDF forms. You must have the Adobe Reader software installed on your PC, download the PDF and open it from your harddrive. Then you can fill it out.
