Different behaviour when filling form with Acrobat Pro instead of Acrobat Reader?

Avatar

Level 2

Hello @all,

I encountered a problem dealing with the state of a filled form. If I fill (and save) a form using Acrobat Pro the changes are seen when opening the form in Acrobat Pro again, but not in Acrobat Reader 9.x. If I start filling it with Acrobat Reader the changes are only seen when reopening the form in Reader - but not in Acobat Pro.

Has someone else mentioned that behaviour?

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0.0 and Adobe Reader 9.1.0

Thanks

Stephan

Hi,

Are you using a Mac?

Macs have an Apple program called Preview, which will open PDFs as well.

The behaviour you are describing sounds like Acrobat > Preview > Acrobat experience.

Can you provide more info?

Thanks,

Niall

Okay,

Is the form Reader Enabled?

See here for details: http://assurehsc.ie/blog/index.php/2010/05/using-livecycle-forms-in-acrobat-and-reader/

If the form is not Reader Enabled, then data that is inputted into the form when it is opened in Reader will not be saved.

I am surprised that the data is not visible in Acrobat, when it still persists when reopened in Reader.

What versions of Acrobat and Reader are you using?

Hello @all,

the problem is solved.

I had to update my Adobe Pro Version from 9.0.0 to minimum 9.1.0.

Thanks for help
