Date field selection and validation message

Hi,

Is there a way to restrict the date fields to only selection? I want the user to select the date and not allow entering values in the field.

I make a row of fields in a table to be mandatory based on a radio. When the fields are being entered or the radio selection is changed, I get a message that the fields that are not filled are mandatory. How to avoid that message?
