conditional formatting; if field value is "no" (check box) then ...

My form has a check box that when checked "No" should negate entering data in any subsequent fields  - even if "required" by users who check "Yes".

What expression do I build (while in form design) to have the "No" field perform this action and then return a message giving instructions. e.g., if "No" is checked, I want the form to still be saved/submitted.

I don't build expressions very often, so a detailed start to finish would be awesome.
