Greetings,
We use a simple multi-user videoconference app built on red5,
and I recently redeveloped it using cocomo. The components were
very easy to work with and the idea of outsourcing our server-side
concerns is very attractive.
We have found, however, that even on very low quality camera
settings the conferencing experience degrades beyond acceptability
after five or six users. With eight or nine users latency can be as
high as 20 seconds.
I realize there are many factors contributing to this
latency, some of them perhaps uncontrollable (client-side)... I'm
wondering if a bottleneck could possibly be on the server side
though? Is the cocomo service restricting concurrent bandwidth in
some way? If so, is it possible to adjust this?
Any thoughts on this are appreciated,
d
