I created a form in Livecycle designer ES2. Set a field up to comb 17 charecters, but when a client prints the form and it pulls the data from the xml file the field gets poulated with the correct data, but loses the comb format. The funny thing is if i click back into the field like I am going to manualy type the numbers in , or I do manualy type the numbers in, they keep the comb format. Any thoughts here. any help would be appreciated.

The comb is not part of the data …it is a visual aid that is placed on top of the field in the template definition. What are you using to view the form ( a Mac or a PC, Acrobat or Reader, which version)?

If you set the comb on your field in Designer then it shoudl be there at all times.....unless you are targetting a really early version of PDF. Under the File/Form Properties/Defaults see what the Traget version is set to it needs to be version 8 or better.

Ok so I tried that and I am still getting the same results. Any other thoughts on how to hard format it with spacing rules?
