Can you add some "virtual space" on a PDF ?

Hello,

I have a PDF Form and this form is taking the whole A4 page. No place for adding a button so I can send the form data without hiding informations.

The only possibility I can think about is to increase the PDF size so I can put a button. The only way I have found is to change the page size, but it's not good because when I print the PDF everything is scaled to fit the A4.

Is there a way to add "virtual space" on a PDF to put my button without changing the page size ? So when I print everything is ok ("virtual space" is not took into account), and when in Reader I have my button in this "virtual space".

I am using LiveCycle designer version 8.2.1

Thanks in advance.

P.S. : I'm french, so if something is not clear I'll try to put it in a better way with my bad english ^^

Hi,

Here is a sample with a button panel, that starts small to the edge of the page (a button) and then goes over the form on click to show buttons.

Hope that helps,

Hi,

Thanks for your answer, it could be the last resort solution. But I would like to have the button visible all the time if possible (only one button for the moment, but after I will add more thing in the "virtual space") because it's much easier for the users than a collapsible panel.

I hope for a better way of handling this, but thanks for this workaround

Hi,

The other solution is to download some tools from WindJack Solutions (http://www.windjack.com/index.html). In particular AcroButtons.

With this Acrobat plugin you can create buttons, that sit in the custom javascript toolbar. This can be set to float above the form. You can then import the buttons into an LC Designer form.

Here is a sample screenshot of three buttons we created:

Hope that helps,
