Buttons and such in a blank form....

Avatar

Level 4

I've noticed that if I create a blank form without a submit or print form button in it, the document is like a read only pdf in the preview mode; meaning buttons and text fields don't work. Changing to Dynamic XML Form in the properties didn't correct this like I thought it would. What is it that needs to be "activated" to get the form to behave like I'd expect?

Hi Graham,

Glad you got the form working. Here if you go to File / Form Properties you can set various defaults for the form. Make sure that the form is set for "interactive" preview; see below

Hopefully this will allow you to use the fields when previewing the form.

No prob, JP Terry's book is excellent and there are good examples on the Adobe web site http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/. Also try downloading the various Adobe scripting guides (if haven't already).

Good luck,

Niall
