Avoid -Email Blank form

Avatar

Former Community Member

Hi,

I have a blank form with no buttons...The users are suppose to complete certain fields on this form before they email it out to clients.

So is there a way of avoiding the users of attaching this form to their email if those fields are blank without me having to add a button.

Note even if I add a button they might still attach the form with the button and not even clicking on the Email button where I would have put my validation.

Regards,

Andile

Hi Andile,

I really don't think that you are going to be able to do this.

When the user is using their email client to attach a file, I don't think there is any API that can look inside the attachment (in this case PDF) to determine if the minimum information is filled in.

Training, instructions are probably your best route.

You could set up a 'company sending out to clients' email button that validates the fields, locks them down (readOnly) and hides the 'company sending out to clients' email button. This might encourage the users to complete this step before sending out to clients. Maybe include an instruction to the clients that is visible if the form is sent out wrong/incomplete.

Hope that helps,

Niall
