Have been experiencing recent issues with Adobe Livecycle ES4:
Caused by: com.adobe.idp.jobmanager.common.JobManagerException: com.ibm.websphere.ce.cm.StaleConnectionException: The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Error: "SQL Server returned an incomplete response. The connection has been closed.". DSRA0010E: SQL State = 08S01, Error Code = 0

System is Windows server 2008 R2, Websphere 8.0.0.12, Adobe Livecycle ES4, connected to SQL server 2008 R2 Database.
Issue presented August 2016, initially thought Microsoft patch was to blame https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3167679 . Microsoft's update rollup Microsoft Security Bulletin MS16-101 - Important released October 11th supposedly fixed issues with prior update. I'm not positive what really going on as the only changes to the server have been Microsoft updates.
