Adobe form will not open in Chrome - is there a solution?

Hello,

I am hoping someone will be able to help me...

We have an interactive form that was created using LiveCycle Designer that users complete and then email back to us. Users are experiencing problems when trying to open it in Google Chrome, it comes up with this message;

Please wait...

If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF

viewer may not be able to display this type of document.

You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows®, Mac, or Linux® by

visiting http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_download.

I have done quite a lot of reading and learnt about the changes Google Chrome are making to disable NPAPI plug-in support (http://blog.chromium.org/2014/11/the-final-countdown-for-npapi.html) meaning Chrome and Acrobat are no longer compatible (https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html)

I have worked out (after a lot of reading) how to use the override capability so that I can open the form on my computer, but I believe this override will be removed in September 2015, and I want a solution so that the users can open it (without having to override or use another browser). Given Chrome is a popular browser we want our users to be able to open it in Chrome and all other browsers. The problems experienced reflect badly on us, as many users are not aware of the changes Chrome have made, and assume it is a problem specific to our form.

So what I want to find out is;

a) Is there any changes we can make to our form so it will be compatible with Chrome?

b) Is Adobe working on updates so that it will be compatible with the changes Google Chrome have made, and if so when this is released will our existing form start working again in Google Chrome or will we need to redevelop it in the newer version of LiveCycle Designer?

c) Is anyone aware of another program (Adobe or otherwise) that can create interactive forms, that would be compatible with Chrome?

Thank you any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey,

Have you found the solution yet?

LiveCycle product has so much potential and features.

But these kind of things are very irritating and the support is really awful.

I wish someone from Adobe comes out and gives some clarity on the future of Adobe LiveCycle / XFA forms.
