Why are JSF libraries disabled when configuring JBoss

I spent last night trying to manually configure my own JBoss server according to the instructions provided in the "Preparing to Install" manual's annex.

One of the steps in the process is to disable/remove the JSF libraries. Why is this needed? When I remove them my JBoss start-up throws a whole bunch of exceptions, so I'd like to avoid it.

Would it do any harm to leave them untouched?
