I'm new to the LiveCycle Designer, so please bare with me.

I need to design a form that will allow a user to link/attach files. When the user submits the form we would like the form to link to the documents like a hyperlink.

Please help the newbie.

One more question regarding this solution.

In what format are the attachments transformed to when i submit the form and send the data to the background process?

They are placed in the PDF in their original format. They may be compressed or encoded will in the PDF but when you remove them they are put back to their original format.

Is the compression/encoding done automatically when i submit the form?

If not, is there an easy way to accomplish this?

Yes it is auto-magic! You do not have access to it at that level.
