Submit Form to IIS

I'm new to Designer so be merciful here. I'm trying to setup a series of PDF forms on a secure IIS server in our DMZ that will then forward the data to an internal e-mail address. What's the easiest way to do this?

1)Should I do the forms in FormCalc or Javascript?

2)Should it run at the client, the server, or both?

3)I'd like it to post the data as either a full blown PDF file, but I guess XML, XDP, or HTTP post is OK to save the user's bandwidth if they're dialup.

4) Should I make it a regular button or http button?

IIS related

5) What should I do for the web security if I want the data to post to https://ipaddressordomainname/cldata ? I just want the user to be able to post their form data and not be able to go to the folder and read their submitted data or that of someon else.

Does it sound like I really don't know what I'm doing?

Tim,

1) It is personal choice. I prefer Javascript over Formcalc since there are more resources and document available for Javascript than formcalc.

2)I am not even sure if you know what you are asking when this question is asked. It sounds like you do not have LiveCycle Form Server. If this is the case, you only need to put your form to run at client.

3) Is it a question?

4) It depends on what you are trying to do. If you are trying to submit the entired form or just XML data to a server side script, then you will need to use the http button. Regular button will allow you to attach javascript to it on different event to behave a certain way when users interact with the form.

5)I do not remember out of the top of my head but you should be able to change the IIS setting so users can not browser folders and subfolders.

Do all the users own Acrobat (not the free Reader)?
