PDF output format of LC Assembler

I understand that I can use the LC assembler to combine different .pdf files.

How does the LC assembler handle different PDF file formats?

What happens, if i combine e.g. a PDF 1.4 document with a PDF 1.6 document?

Can I specify the output format?

And can i therefore use the LC assembler as a PDF conversion tool?

Assembler will use the most recent version of PDF of the component documents in the assembly. Therefore, in your example, combining a 1.4 PDF with a 1.6 PDF would result in a 1.6 PDF. There doesn't appear to be a way to convert a PDF to a previous version, so you won't be able to get a 1.4 PDF out of that example.
