expand to fit to smaller size - "collapse to fit"

I use expand to fit to let a field grow with the text when I leave it. In my form design the fields have an initial height of 3 lines for instance. Now I also want that the field is getting smaller when not so much text is in when I leave it. What I need something like "collapse to fit".



Is there a chance to do that by scripting on the exit-event?

There is no collapse to fit ....I would suggest only leaving one line and use expand to fit (to handle more than one line).
