what the correct approach to follow for dam url path

If we are not following the approach with defining of L2 and L3 i.e. category and sub category and only define them under tags in the url of the website in the dam ? will it going to work or is any other parameters we can follow. Can some one give proper insight on that

I am not clear on your question. What do you mean what is the best approach for DAM URL path?

A URL to an asset depends where the asset is located in the DAM. 

What are you trying to do - reference a node in the JCR that is an asset, use a node in Asset Manager API ?
