Text Image not rendering image for a particular format.

Hi

I have an image which is of SVG image format. 

When i drag and drop it on OOTB image component i am not able to view it. Instead the alt text comes.

I have noticed that renditions are not getting created for that SVG image format and I feel that is the reason Why i am not able to view the image. 

Please correct me if I am wrong on this.
