Some of the image references in EN-US site got updated to Japanese images in author

Some of the image references in EN-US site got updated to Japanese assets in author.Twenty percent of the asset references were updated to Japanese. The page/components do not have 'jcr:lastModified/jcr:lastModifiedBy' etc properties added so that  we can figure out when the update was made.

A project for Japanese locale was sent for translation when this happened.

We need help in figuring out which service or event would have caused this.

Do you have workflows that can modify some of the assets. This sounds like some of the assets may have been subject to a workflow.

I see that 2 workflows are executed on the Japanese images - DAM MetaData Writeback, DAM Asset Update.

Not sure how image path in EN-US got updated.
