Hi @niharikaN1 ,

First we have to understand, what we are doing here. Collection is nothing but a folder in which you are going to put desired/selected assets.

Now, if the requirement is just to know the least privileges so that we can create a new Collection under '/content/dam/collections' then the answer would be the user should have 'Create/Modify' permission on '/content/dam/collections' node, else the Create button itself would not come.

But, interesting part is, after collection is created, now we want to move assets to our newly created collection, that time user needs more permission on other assets path too.

In AEM 6.4,  when i create a user from content-authors group, user is able to create a collection. But in 6.5, a member of content-authors group cannot create a collection even though they have create/ modify permission on /content/dam/collection.

In AEM 6.5, when I add author user to dam-users group, it is able to create collection. But, I do not want my user to be part of dam-users as it has more privileges like replicate.

Hence, back to the question, what are the minimum permissions required for a user to be able to create a collection.
