RTE Plugin Text Editing Options disappears in dialog if we click outside the RTE field

Hello,

We have an interesting scenario. We have a component with dialog having 3 fields - 2 text fields and one RTE field.

Upon opening the component dialog, we get the dialog fields as shown in image below. You can see the 3rd field is Richtext and RTE editing options appearing there.

Now the moment we click on other fields in the dialog or even outside of dialog for that matter, all the RTE editing options disappears as show below.

Now even if you click again in the RTE field, the RTE options dont show up. The only way to get these options back is close the dialog and open it again.

I have seen this article - RTE (used in multifield) is not showing the previously stored content when edit the component. · Iss... where it says that there are many issues like this in AEM 6.1.

Just wanted to check if this is known bug which is yet to be addressed or Adobe has provided solution to this issue already. if yes, please share how this can be addressed.

Help much appreciated.

Thank you.

Nilesh.

Hi Nilesh,

Yes you are correct, the fields get disappeared when you click on other fields of the dialog or outside of the dialog. But once when you click inside RTE, the plugins appears.

Hey Ratna, thanks for quickly getting back.

However, in our case its not happening - if you click back in the richtext field, even though the RTE options are not coming back. As i mentioned in my question, the only way we get these options back is by closing and reopening the dialog. And yes, we have followed the implementation based on the Adobe link you shared.

Can you try to implement this as per the article - This is exactly as per your requirement like, 3 fields and 1 RTE field but it uses multifield: Scott's Digital Community: Creating an AEM HTML Template Language 6.3 component that uses a Multifie...

Also, could you pls forward send your package, so that I can test it and check your issue in fresh AEM instance.

Thanks,

Ratna Kumar.
