Accessing AEM from Desktop

Avatar

Level 2

I was wondering how to reset the choice for accessing Dam repository from Desktop.

There are 2 possibilities, either via AEM Companion or via CCDesktop App.

For any reason the second don't works anymore on my computer and I can't activate the first one. I mean using the "Reveal on Desktop" button from my Browser.

Where this behavior is stored on my computer ?

Iguess it's somewhere in windows because Chrome and Firefox give the same results

Thanks for the help.

Hi Jean-Michel,

this may well be a bug, I would suggest getting in touch with Adobe Support.

Hi Jean-Michel,

What is your desktop OS?

The best way to perform CRUD (create, replace, update, and delete) operations on AEM Assets from the desktop is to write custom sling servlets. Then you can use a Desktop app to send HTTP requests to the servlets. For example, you can move a file from the desktop to AEM DAM. See these articles as an example:

Hi,

What I mean is that in AEM 6.1 there is 2 new features activated in the Users prefs "Show Desktop Actions for Assets"

By activating this pref, you get 2 new actions in the browser "Edit on Desktop" and "Reveal on Desktop"

My problem is that the feature don't works any more. and I want to reset on my system mount the AEM Dam on the desktop

In fine,  I've had to de-install AEM-asset-companion app from my system and re-install it to make it running again.

But my goal was to use the Mount AEM asset from the "Creative Cloud Desktop" app and this one don't want to work.

And I'm not confident to the best way to change from one to the other... but may be it don't make sense.
