https://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/6-3/assets/using/medialibrary.html talks about the differences between AEM Assets and AEM Media library, that is, what you get out of the box for working with the DAM/Assets in AEM 6.3 but it's not entirely transparent:
"...To ease installation and deployment, all AEM Applications and add-ons are delivered in one single package with all functionality included. This does not imply that you have permission to use all features in the package."
Is there a way to switch off additional features of AEM Assets that require additional licensing - e.g. via a sling runmode?
