How to delete a Target Audience in AEM?

Avatar

Level 10

Hello,

Can anyone explain if it is possible to remove an Audience created for Targeting powered by Adobe Target?

Scenario:

  1. go to Personalization > Audiences
  2. click Create > Create Target Audience
  3. select a Target Configuration (appears if Adobe Target is integrated)
  4. create a rule, click Next and save the audience

Once the Audience has appeared in the list, it's not clear how to remove it. It is only possible to Edit audience by selecting it (the Remove/Delete button does not exist) .

Note: The Audience cannot be removed from within Adobe Target UI.

I am not sure if this is the best practice but to delete it from Target side is using Target Classic [1] (Segments -> Segments List -> deleting that Segment).

I will get back to you once I have the answer for this. But you can use Workaround as of now.

Does anyone have any experience with managing Target Audiences? – Please share your thoughts on the question above.

Sorry for getting back late on this.

AFAIK we can delete it from classic UI:- http://localhost:4502/miscadmin#/etc/segmentation/adobe-target

From here you can go ahead and delete it.

Let me validate if we have an option available in Touch UI as well.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you Kautuk for the tip!

I was able to delete an Audience from AEM Classic UI. However, that change was not synced up with Adobe Target, the deleted Audience is still available from within Adobe Target UI.

I wonder if you can advise what is required to delete the Audience completely?

kautuksahni,

I wonder how the segments (audiences) can be removed now when Target Classic is decommissioned?

I have this question for me as well when I was proposing the solution to you then. And not just this, how will the integration work when we cannot connect AEM with Target Classic (as right now to do things from AEM interface need to connect with target classic).

I would recommend the best way to do things are by using Target Standard vis DTM [1] [2].

Are you are able to find how to delete audiences from touch ui? We are facing the same issue for ContextHub Segments as there is no option to delete them in Touch ui.

Yes, same issue still present with 6.4

And I cannot find them in Classic UI, since the segments have been moved from /etc to /conf.

Tried deleting it via the Target side as Kautuk suggests?

We are not using Adobe Target, but the integrated Target from AEM.

The Classic UI is empty there, but I am only able to select the Audiences in order to edit, but there is no way to delete it from the interface, except, of course, if I go to the CRX, but I need to provide to the author users a guide to do it in Touch UI.

This is still a problem... even in 2019. Unbelievable.
