how to cache header/footer using Server Side Include in iplanet web server7

In our application,header and footer is loading for every request with almost-static-site with a simple dynamic component.We need to cache it by implementing Server Side Include(SSI). We are using iplanet webserver7.

Could you please suggest how do we achieve this.
