HEVC / 4K support on AEM

Does Adobe AEM 6.2 supports 4K/HEVC content ?

https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-2/administer/content/assets/assets-formats.html

From the above link, I don't see mention of 4K but just want to clarify.

Any future patches/release would have the support for 4K video support?

Thanks

Hi Vinayak,

Could you please elaborate your exact use case? AEM DAM is generally good for storing small and finished 4K videos, to be used as a marketing asset on the sites. So, depending upon the exact use case, you may want to explore whether you need a MAM or a DAM solution.

Hope this helps!!!

Appreciate your response, Rishab!

Use case is,  video to be stored as marketing asset and to be display in our website. We use mp4 format with 264 as video codec and have never used 4K video format. . We use AEM 6.1 and we are evaluating whether we can store 4K (HEVC) content and transfer through HLS.

Can you please share link/reference which has the 4K information on DAM, AEM  so that I delve more into it?

Thanks again

Regards

Vinayak
