Changing datetime timezone format

datetime widget stores the values in the below mentioned format:

2016-08-29T11:55:43.580+05:30

I want to save the values as 2016-08-29T11:55:43.580-08:00.

Any idea how can we achieve this?

Hi,

the scenario is that all the content authoring will be done on a central server. Authors can be around the world. When ever the content is updated, we want that the time of modification to be stored in PST.
