Asset Expiration Solutions in AEM 6.4

Hello from Los Angeles.

I'm wondering how Asset Expiration works in AEM 6.4?

I've discovered this document on the Adobe Support Site:
Digital Rights Management in Assets

It appears that AEM out of the box keeps all expired assets in the DAM, with limited access.

Our previous DAM, MediaBin, automatically migrated the active asset once expiration had been reached into a mirror subfolder in an Expired Assets folder, off limits to all but admins.

Do most AEM customers use the out of the box option, or create an API that migrates the expired assets from Adobe into a cloud location?

Thank you for any responses you can give.

Yes, it keeps within the DAM with the limited access based on the expiration date.

However, you can create a workflow scheduler to have a process defined for all the expired assets based on your business process. It could be as simple as moving it to a different 'Archive' folder or to move to Cloud (S3 buckets) etc. You can also think of checking all the references of these assets before those movements.

You could write a AEM scheduler service that would be invoked every so often to search for expired Assets and then move them to an archive DAM folder.

HI,

Is there any specific access I have to give to user so that they are able to move any expired assets to a different place? currently, it seems only Admin can move expired assets. There are some assets that sits in our archive folder that require reorganise.
