What do you mean by Automatic versioning?

Activating a page will automatically create a version of that page or by running the versioning workflow on any payload.

You can configure it by:

1. Go to http://localhost:4502/system/console/configMgr

2. Day CQ WCM Version Manager

Here you can configure it as per your need.

If you need to version at specific interval then in that case you need to write a custom scheduler.

Auto version means, when ever changes are made to page, version should create with the timestamp.
