AEM 6.4 repo restructure /etc to /app

Hello,

As per 6.4 it is expected to repository restructure. My question is specific to clientlibraryfolders created under /etc/

Right now I have some global clientlibs created under /etc/   (can be accessed using http://server/miscadmin/ )

  • This folder gives my  UX & UI team an ability to make updates to global CSS, JS & quickly publish it.
  • This folder also overcomes the release dependencies where technology need to be involved to bundles css, js files as a release at the end of sprint release.

As per recommended repo restructure (moving clientlibs of /etc to /app) looks like we will end up loosing the liberty of being release independent.

Any recommendations? Apologies if I am asking something dumb.

I think I understand it now,

Below is what I found written.

For any Designs that NOT managed in SCM, and modified run-time via Design Dialogs.

  • Do not move author-able Designs out of /etc.

Thank you.

Just to reassure:

Your design team is performing directly changes to /etc/ in production using CRXDE?
