I am trying to implement Custom Site search in touch ui. Has anyone attempted adding custom search filters.

You can use query builder for searching content pages based on property, last modified, creation date, last modified by , resource type, component being used etc. 

Check below link for more details related to query builder

Query Builder API

You can create json response and display on page in whatever format you want.
