Add columns to sites.html list view

Hi

We would like to add a custom field (eg: jcr:description) to the sites.html in list view. I have seen a lot of articles but none of them provides a clear solution.

Can someone please provide a solution to add a custom column to sites.html list view?

We are using AEM 6.3.2.2 version.

Thanks. I have gone through this link. It gives a package to install and doesn't explain the logic behind it.

We cannot install an external package on our system and hence will have to implement on our own.

Is it possible if I could get some sort of documentation/logic on how this can be achieved?
