Restricted distribution: limit with restricted collections

What exactly is the meaning of this?

I can have as much restricted collections on level 1 as I want, but if the first level collection is restricted, there cannot be more then 100 restricted collections on all deeper levels inside of it?

As I don't know if I described well enough, here a use case as example:

There are multiple target groups of which each needs an individual start browse page and therefore has to be restricted. Does the limitation mean, that each target group can now only be entitled to 100 products or product categories, that are linked some levels below?

If so, is there a way to upgrade that limitation to number at least 10 times as high?

For any collection, you can have up to 100 restricted collections inside.

So your top-level could have up to 100 restricted collections, and more non-restricted collections.

And any of the restricted collections above could have up to 100 restricted collections too.

You just cannot have more than 100 restricted collections in one parent collection.

No technical limit on how many collections that are free or require entitlement in a parent.

A restricted collection could be use as a "gateway" -- if your sign in reveals a restricted collection you can to through this gateway and see the collections inside. Some of those collections could be free, some could require entitlement (so you might be able to see a collection exists but not be entitled to the content), and some could be restricted collections (only visible b/c you're sign in reveals them.)

I think I got it, but I have to make absolutely sure that I understood it right...

The following is possible?

level 1 restricted collection (up to 100)

- level 2 restricted collection (up to 100)

-- level 3 restricted collection (up to 100)

--- level 4 restricted collection (up to 100)

---- level 5 restricted collection (up to 100)

It does not mean that in all levels together below level 1 there are maximum 100 restricted collections allowed in total?

You got it.

And I expect that you can see the value in _planning_ how you'll organize your content...

A collection can be restricted (so that collection doesn't appear in the parent collection and all of its content isn't visible unless you are granted access through direct entitlement.) e.g. You have access to level 3, so you can see all free and entitled materials in level 3 but you only see restricted collections in level 3 that you have access through using direct entitlement.

You likely should have some free or entitled content in you top-level, and likely in every level, so readers see something when they launch the app or enter a collections as a browse page.

A restricted collection in level 1 only appears to a reader who signs in and is entitled to it through direct entitlement.

The order of content in a browse page may be different for each user after signed in, and potentially for every signed in user...

And if you grant entitlement for a user to a restricted collection in level 3, how do they get there? They likely also need access to something in level 2 and level 1.
