Image renditions appearing in publish instance after deleting the image from DAM

I have deactivated and deleted an image from DAM in authoring instance. But renditions for this image are still appearing in publish instance. What could be the reason?

According to https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/cq/5-6-1/dam/dam_documentation.html

The Published state of the asset affects the results of the delete command:

• If the asset is not activated (or deactivated), the asset is deleted on both the author and the publish instance.
• If the asset is activated, the asset is deleted on the author instance and remains on the publish instance. 

It is not called out if the same happens in 6.x
