Typologies relating to certain IP addresses to be used in Stage and Prod?

Dear support community,

I have a question regarding typologies: Can we use our typologies of the prod environment (relating to a specific IP address for the send out) in the stage, too?

The background of my question is: We would like to test the sending of transactional messages out of the stage with one of our typologies from the productive environment first, before changing it in prod as we had a lot of trouble in the past when doing only small changes, especially related to the brands. The typology we would like to test is referring to a specific IP address for the sending of emails.

I would export the typologies from prod and import it in stage, but if you say that’s not possible anyway then I could save the effort…

Thanks for your help!

Hi lenaf21917833

IP Addresses come into picture at back end, those are nowhere stored in an explicit field over the Console so won't really be exported/imported.

With regards to Branding, that is only allowed over Production Instance and is Working as Designed.

Hi lenaf21917833

Typologies are just like any other entities, which can be imported and exported across Instances provided the unique ID (Internal Name)  doesn't clash.

So in your case, while importing Typologies in Stage, just ensure that the Internal Names of Typologies within Prod aren't matching any of the Internal Names in Stage Instance.

Hope that helps!

Hi garimag84710110,

Thanks for your answer!

I was aware that I can simply export the typologies from Prod and insert them in Stage. But I'm wondering whether the IP addresses we have for Prod will be used when sending from the Stage instance with the typologies of Prod, too. I know that at least the brand configurations do not work from the Stage - the brands with the domains belonging to them are only to be used from Prod. That's why I thought that the typologies with the IP addresses corresponding to specific brands might not work from Stage, either.

Does this make my question clearer?

Thanks again for your help!
