Difference between an email delivery and 'other' delivery activity

Hi,

Could you please tell me the difference between a normal email delivery and 'other delivery' type activity under the "DELIVERIES" tab of campaign workflows? And what business cases, does the 'other delivery' activity should be used and what are the advantages in using this activity?
