Avatar

Level 2

Hi Team,

Can you please help to know as to why the seed address FirstName comes incorrect in Delivery Log as well as in Email Delivery Personalization field?

When i went to Campaign Dashboard, under Delivery - I can see Delivery Log section says FirstName something different.

Please reply ASAP. I need to answer.

Thanks!

Hi Arvind,

With your additional explanations, by now I understand your mistake:

because you don't use Firstname standard field (used by the 1st and 2nd tab of Seed address form) but Smart(FirstName) in Additionnal data (targetData XML element). Hence you must fill the value in the corresponding "field" in the 5th tab of Seed address form, by using an XML syntax. The better is to give an alias to Smart(FirstName) so the XML element is clearer.

Can someone please reply.

If this is not the correct group, then please pass it to POC for Adobe Campaign members.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Arvind,

Just to clarify, is this Campaign Classic?

Can you please post screenshots?

Meanwhile you can test the correct names match the corresponding email address using Personalization fields.

Any ideas, AdhiyanGarima Gakhar?

Yes Pablo, it is for Campaign Classic.

Actually, one of our client complaint about incorrect FirstName appeared in mailer after Greeting.

Scenario: Client Name was Kevin Leo, but in emailer on FirstName Personalization, it appeared Dear Larry,

Larry was neither her FirstName in Schema nor in Seed address.

Hi Arvind,

Please may you share more information?
Do your delivery population/target come from:

  • a workflow with delivery contacts defined by the incoming events
  • from a workflow with delivery contacts specified in the delivery
  • a direct delivery

I assume you filled correctly the First name field in the Seed address control (1st tab of your delivery or delivery model)?

Actually, it can be a normal behavior, depending on what you did for your seed information. If you didn't fulfill some information in the recipient common fields / first tab of the seed form (as for first name value) or in It can be a normal behavior, depending on what you did for your seed information. If you didn't fulfill some information in the recipient common fields / first tab of the seed form (as for the first name field) or in the targetData 3rd tab for specific personalization values, it takes random recipient record during preparation delivery step for filling personalization fields .

Hello J-Serge,

My workflow was very simple.

Query activity (Add Data - Smart(FirstName))  >  Recurring Delivery (Having Personalization Dear <smartFirstName>)

In delivery, there was Seed address folder selected.

So lets say - 50 records coming from Transition and 5 records in Seed folder.

So records coming from Transition can see Personalization FirstName properly, however for Seed people, it displayed random FirstName in Outlook mail.

Is this known?

Thanks!

Hi Arvindg,

Please share a screenshot of your seed address forms so we can be sure that the first name is filled at the right place (of course, blur the confidential information).

Thanks

In your screenshot, do the 2nd tab blurred correspond to a custom contact table replacing nms:recipient?
As in this screenshot of ACC documentation for Seed address:
https://docs.campaign.adobe.com/doc/AC/en/CFG_Use_a_custom_recipient_table_Seed_addresses.html

In that case, the firstname should be rather filled in the 2nd tab instead.

Do you use FDA for custom contact table instead?

My Second Tab belongs to extended nms:recipient for different role users.

However, we make a habit to fill complete details in both tab, nms: as well as extendednms:

Therefore, during that deployment as well, we filled FirstName, LastName and Email details in both tab.

No, we are not using FDA module for now.

Hi Pablo, J-Serge,

Is this known functions then?

Random FirstName if Seed Address appeared in Mailer.

Please reply so that we can close this discussion with final answer.

Thanks!
